Frequently Asked Questions

CPS Test — Click Speed Testing Guide

A CPS Test (Clicks Per Second) measures how many times you can click your mouse per second. Used by Minecraft PvP players, FPS gamers, and hardware enthusiasts to benchmark click speed and track improvement. Our tool is modeled after the Kohi Click Test format, with added right click mode, live graph, and anti-cheat detection.

What is a Good CPS Score?

1–4 CPS
🐌 Beginner
5–6 CPS
🐢 Casual
7–9 CPS
🦊 Intermediate
10–12 CPS
🐆 Advanced
13+ CPS
🤖 Elite

These are approximate community benchmarks. 6–8 CPS is normal for casual players; 10+ CPS is competitive. Hardware, grip style, and technique all affect your score.

Clicking Techniques

Normal clicking (6–9 CPS) is the sustainable baseline. Jitter clicking uses rapid forearm contractions for 10–14 CPS — limit to 30-second sessions to avoid strain (see Cleveland Clinic RSI guide). Butterfly clicking (15–20 CPS) alternates two fingers — restricted on many competitive servers. Drag clicking (25–50+ CPS) is mechanically assisted and banned virtually everywhere.

CPS in Gaming

In Minecraft 1.8 PvP, higher CPS means more knockback and hit registration. Practice on Minemen Club, Hypixel, or DonutSMP. In FPS games (Valorant, PUBG, CS2), 7–10 CPS maximizes semi-auto fire rate. In MOBAs, faster clicking improves last-hits and APM. Right click speed affects ADS, blocking, and movement commands across all genres.

Right Click Test

Switch to Right Click mode above the test area. Right CPS is typically 1–3 points lower than left click for most players. It matters in Minecraft (placing blocks, using items), FPS ADS, and MOBA movement. Train both buttons independently to close the performance gap.

How to Improve Your CPS

  • Sprint intervals: 10 × 1-second max-effort tests with 30-second rest periods.
  • Grip: Claw or fingertip grip is faster than palm grip for most players.
  • Hardware: Lightweight mice (<80g) with optical switches and 1000 Hz polling remove mechanical bottlenecks.
  • Warm up: 60 seconds of gentle finger taps before testing noticeably improves results.
  • Recovery: Stop if you feel forearm pain. Consistent injury-free practice delivers the best long-term gains.
